Super EE and Super Kigali in: for the Kigali Amendment’s strength! – Part 3

Tempo para leitura: < 1 minuto

Wow! Super EE unplugged the air conditioners from the socket lol… 🫳🏾🔌

The tension in the last part of our story grew and so did the energy consumption of the appliances, right? This was Super EE’s solution to calm things down and explain the Kigali Amendment.

Super EE and Super Kigali talk in this part of the story about hydrofluorocarbons, HFCs. These substances are used as refrigerants in air conditioning and cause the greenhouse effect.

That is why the Kigali Amendment came to combat the use of HFCs with high Global Warming Potential (or GWP).

Check out part 3 of our story:

The most widely used HFC in air conditioners sold and used in Brazilian homes today is R410A. As Super EE said, it has a GWP 2,000 times greater than that of CO2, which is the main greenhouse gas.

But change can be difficult and the devices are still worried about being replaced by more efficient equipment that emits less harmful gases to the environment. How will our heroes deal with this, huh?

Check out the next chapter of our story here, which has the script by IEI Brasil and drawings by the super Natalia De Souza Flores.
